Part of the United Synagogue, Highgate Shul is located in the heart of Highgate Village, one of London’s highest points. The shul’s story is a testament to the strength and warmth of the community. From our humble beginnings in the late 1920s, to the joyous inauguration of our new building in 2017 by Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, our journey is marked by moments of unity, laughter, and shared purpose.
Our beautiful sanctuary, garden room, and multifunctional spaces are not just architectural achievements but a home for our growing family and a hub for our thriving community life.
Highgate Shul is much more than a place of worship; it’s a vibrant community where life’s milestones are celebrated together, from births and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs to weddings and remembering loved ones.
Our comprehensive approach to Jewish education, from our Cheder’s nurturing environment to our adult learning programs and the esteemed Sir Martin Gilbert Learning Centre, reflects our commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.
We take pride in our welfare initiatives, where acts of kindness and support embody the essence of community. Volunteering, supporting each other, and celebrating together are the pillars upon which Highgate Shul stands.
